HOW I GOT INTO THE FITNESS INDUSTRY/PERSONAL JOURNEY
I began training at the gym from the age of 13, ragging along with my older brother before individually training by myself from the age of 14. While I was training at the gym, I was also juggling a career in athletics, specialising in the 100m and 200m sprints. When I turned 17 I competed in my first powerlifting competition, and within that same year I ended up breaking 3 national records and winning a national championship.

At 19 years old I underwent 2 hip arthroscopic surgery’s, tore both my shoulder labrums and was riddled with patellar tendinitis which took me roughly 5 years to fully recovery from. I made a return to powerlifting at the age of 23 in 2019, winning my first gold medal in the open age category at a local competition. Being patient for 5 years and becoming a better overall coach and athlete during this time is truly what has made me passionate about the fitness industry today.

MY VIEW ON FITNESS & NUTRITION
I believe everyone should have a sound understanding of the basic compound movements, how to perform them with good technique, how they’re programmed and how to track their calories and macronutrients in order to achieve their goals. I believe in a science-based/factual approach to training and strongly believe that everyone should be using the current up to date information to guide their training for optimal results.

WHAT I SPECIALISE IN
I specialise in mainly strength and hypertrophy training. I have had extensive experience in both of these areas, and also specialise in powerlifting specific and Strength & Conditioning training programs.

NUTRITION COACH

STACEY LAPIRA

Stacey Lapira founder of Mummy Revival Transformation and Head Nutrition coach of the Together Stronger MumFit program

Stacey Lapira founder of Mummy Revival Transformation and Head Nutrition coach of the Together Stronger MumFit program. Mummy Revival was founded after I (Stacey) had my second son Presley. I was so desperate to create a space for women to come and feel supported and encouraged to find the confidence to be best versions of themselves. Let’s be honest, after you have children, we can lose a sense of self and often our needs can be forgotten or neglected.

My nutrition approach and Mummy Revival program is a holistic program for women. It’s about creating a space where all women are given a space to work on their health, fitness, and mental wellness. You will be educated in nutrition, coached in fitness and wellness and be part of a community of like-minded women, where you will always be seen and heard.

“Health” isn’t just about the physical, there is so much that encompasses health and a lot of it has to do with our mental and emotional wellbeing alongside our fitness and nutrition.

The Mummy Revival Nutrition program intertwines all of these, as well as ensuring you are supported every step of the way. Be part of a community at TOGETHER STRONGER MUMFIT. SUCCESS IS SWEETER WHEN SHARED!

If you want something, if you have a goal, then put in the work and get after—that’s what Lauren has proved to herself and to the Crossfit community. Being a full time mom of three children, it’s easy to use time as an excuse. But instead Lauren made a choice to immerse herself in Crossfit, and three years later, under the guidance of Coach Michael and Maja, has become the 2023 Victorian Masters athlete champion in her division. Lauren is also the social centre of the community and is always bringing people together with positive energy and lots of smiles.

Lauren Morrone

Chris is 5 years into his Crossfit Journey and has worked closely with Coach Michael & Maja. Full time parent, full time athlete. Like Lauren, Chris has embodied what it means to be fully dedicated to the craft of Crossfit, and this year became the VIC champion in the Masters league competition in his division. Chris has also made it to the worldwide Crossfit quarterfinals in 2021 and continues to pursue his athletic career in the sport of Crossfit.

Chris Aspiotis

Coming from a background of conventional weight training, Juanita was looking to spice up her training and try something different. She found Crossfit and has never looked back. As a complete beginner, she went from not knowing how to do anything in Crossfit to being crowned first place in the 2022 Summer-Jam In-house competition, which is no easy task. Despite being a full-time teacher, Juanita has shown how long term, committed training can transform you into a better athlete and a better human.

FAQs

IS TOGETHER STRONGER FOR ME?

Of course it is, Together Stronger is designed for everyone. The goal of Together Stronger is to get YOU in the best physical and mental condition YOU can be whilst working with your capabilities.

What is a WOD (WORKOUT OF THE DAY)

WOD simple means (Workout of the Day). Each day has a different workout which we will all complete.

I’M NOT VERY FIT IS TOGETHER STRONGER FOR ME?

The great thing about Together Stronger is that it doesn’t matter how fit you are when you start the most important thing is that you DO start. The whole idea of what we do here at Together Stronger is based around helping you increase your current level of fitness and strength, regardless of your fitness baseline.

You may not have done any prior exercise before and that’s fine – each and every workout performed has the ability to be scaled to your individual level of fitness and skill (whatever that may be), and our coaches are here to help give you all the support you may need along the way.

Most importantly, you don’t need to do any extra training before you come and do a workout with us; all you need to do is turn up with a positive mindset and the rest will fall into place!

BUT I’VE NEVER DONE WEIGHLIFTING BEFORE?

No previous weightlifting experience is necessary – in fact we generally expect that people starting at Together Stronger will have very little, if any, weightlifting experience. This means that by starting from scratch you’re at an advantage, as you’ll spend less time unlearning any previous bad habits or incorrect form.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A TYPICAL TRAINING SESSION?

Together Stronger training session run for one hour and involve an initial 5-10 minute warm up before the group is gathered to the whiteboard where the coach for the session explains the workout of the day. All movements are demonstrated and standards explained.

Following this, there is a period of skills instruction and warm up drills using the movements and weights specified in the day’s workout. Once the group has thoroughly warmed up and the gym is setup for the workout, the coach will start the timer on the clock and countdown from 3-2-1, with “Go!” signalling the start of the workout. It is important to arrive on time so that you are fully prepared to workout.

IS TOGETHER STRONGER TOO HARD FOR ME?

CrossFit is as hard as you make it. We encourage people to push to there potential  of their own tolerances but only you can make the most out of your own workouts with the amount of work you put into them.

HOW FIT DO I HAVE TO BE BEFORE I START?

Where you are currently at perfect, all you need to do is show up. That’s why we are here and offer scaling options for everyone so that you can thrive in each workout on a personal level. Fitness is a lifelong journey, and we are here to help nurture that.

DOES TOGETHER LEAD TO INJURIES?

You can injure yourself in any activity, but Together Stronger is more safe than many activities people perform every day. We like to work with people in 3 stages. First: mechanics (learning how to do the movements with correct technique), Second: Consistency (the ability to do the movements over and over again with safe and relatively efficient technique), Third: Intensity (the speed at which you do the movements). One does not come before the other. We always start with correct technique and Mechanics above all else. In fact doing Together Stronger building strength, muscle, mobility and fitness will reduce the risk of injuries inside and outside ethe gym,

WILL LIFTING WEIGHTS MAKE ME TOO BIG AND BULKY?

In order for people to get bigger, especially women, there are two things that you would have to make a concerted effort to do. One: pick up very heavy weight on a daily basis which we do not recommend.

Two: eat an extremely high calorie diet. For most to gain productive muscle mass takes quite the effort in eating the right foods in a high amount. This is also something that we do not focus on.

Women will actually find it difficult to get bulky from weight training because they do not have as much testosterone as men do. Lifting weights will in fact help you burn more body fat and make you look more toned.
